Pump Stations Drainage

Waste water pumping stations are designed to collect and transport wastewater to a point of higher elevation and are sometimes referred to as lift stations. A pumping station handles wastewater that is fed from underground gravity pipelines and stored in an underground pit, or wet well. The wet well is equipped with electrical instrumentation to detect the level of wastewater present so, when the wastewater level rises to a predetermined level, the pumping station commences operation.

The pump lifts the wastewater upwards through a pressurised pipe system that discharges the wastewater into a gravity manhole. Here, the cycle starts again until the wastewater reaches its destination – usually a wastewater treatment plant.

Allsebrook Vertical Waste Water Pump Stations are available in a range of diameters from 1.1m to 1.8m and depths from 2.2m to 4m, a range of horizontal units are also available.

Each system is supplied as a complete unit with either single or twin free-standing submersible pumps and high-quality internal pipework/fittings as standard.

These pump stations are typically used in smaller domestic or commercial applications for pumping foul water or sewage to a mains sewer.
